Hello and welcome to the East Tennessee State University website
on communication skills, teaching and research related to the
clinical interview. Here you will find a description and access
to educational materials dedicated to teaching patient centered
communication and the enhancement of the doctor-patient
relationship.
The Interview Study Group was developed in 1990 and is supported by the Department of Family Medicine at East Tennessee State University. It is composed of educators, including representatives from several medical disciplines (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Psychiatry), psychology, and social work. Include photos and biographical narratives] Our products include teaching materials such as instructional modules on core and advanced communications skills, educational trigger-tape interviews, standardized patient scripts, OSCEs, formative and summative assessment measures, etc. Links to documents associated with our presentations, published research, and other materials are accessed through this site. Training activities such as individual and programmatic consultation and workshops are also described. Announcements describing future presentations and workshops as well as links allowing direct correspondence with members of Interview Study Group faculty are also found on this site.
