The Internal Medicine Residency program at the James H. Quillen College of Medicine, East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, Tennessee welcomes applications from graduates of US and foreign medical schools.
Our Internal Medicine Residency program accepts applications to the Internal Medicine/Psychiatry program utilizing ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service). Review and screening of applications begins as soon as the ERAS post office opens and continues until December 31 of each year.
US Graduates: In order to apply to our program, graduates of US medical schools need to contact their school of graduation to obtain an ERAS Student Workstation packet.
Foreign Medical Graduates: In order to apply to our program, foreign medical graduates need to contact the ECFMG at http://www.ecfmg.org to obtain an ERAS Student Workstation packet. Graduates of foreign medical schools must have a minimum two digit score of 83 on both the USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 examinations to be eligible for our program. In addition to board scores, our program requires that foreign medical graduates have a J-1 visa or be a permanent resident.
Our institution allows us to accept H1 visas on a case-by-case basis. Foreign medical graduate applications not meeting these qualifications will not be reviewed.
The Internal Medicine Residency Program is currently transitioning into a night float system.
